Michael Barnett is an Executive Managing Director and Director of Research for U.S. Corporate Credit at Sculptor Capital. Mr. Barnett is responsible for sourcing, diligencing and managing stressed and distressed credit investments for the Firm’s Opportunistic Credit strategy. These investments are made in a wide variety of sectors and include corporate, municipal and sovereign opportunities.
Prior to joining Sculptor Capital in 2010, Mr. Barnett was a Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst at Marathon Asset Management, where he focused on both equity and distressed credit investments. Mr. Barnett began his career at J.P. Morgan Securities as a Proprietary Trader with a focus on investments across corporate capital structures.
Mr. Barnett holds a B.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University. He is on the Board of Directors of Urban Pathways, a not-for-profit social service and supportive housing organization serving homeless adults in the New York Metropolitan area.
