Although Sculptor is fully a GUI windows client/server product,
programs can still be written to run in character windows on a
multi-user, terminal based system. This is very useful for
maintenance and control programs on Unix servers. Existing
Sculptor users running applications developed originally for
character windows can develop new GUI client/server programs that
work on the same database. There is no need to abandon legacy
programs and switch to a new system in a single operation.
